We Are Defiance suffered some major setbacks after a serious van accident last winter. The band has been making do for the past year by loading their gear into their tiny van sans trailer, but they’re now counting on the help and generosity of their fans to help them.

Below is a statement from the band:

“Last winter our band was involved in a terrible van accident while on tour in Kentucky. In result our vocalist Brian Calzini was hospitalized and had to undergo surgery. When we wrecked we completely totaled our van and trailer. We lost some minor equipment but the HUGE loss was our transportation. Through out the next few months we were able to save up and buy a used van. We were unable to afford a new trailer so for the past year we have been mot been able to bring lots of necessities on the road with us with out having a trailer. Most of our equipment we are can't bring with us and it gives our band lots of restrictions. We are coming to you today in desperation asking for help. We are asking for $1,500 dollars to help us buy a used trailer. Anyone who donates to help us we will be rewarding you with gifts for being amazing awesome fans!”

I jumped to the opportunity to speak to vocalist and guitarist James Mattock. I ask him about stuffs that most of us wouldn't know of course what can we expect from their new album "No God". Find out what he has to say below!

Is there a reason behind the name Sharks?

Absolutely none, a band has to have a name, and we were too impatient to think of anything better. The one word thing suits us, it can mean many things, and we like that.

Have you guys ever considered playing something softer?

Sure, there's been elements of it on our records where we've written slower, more piano led songs. But honestly, we have all our lives to soften out. We very much like to play as loud as possible, it's a good feeling.

What can we expect from your upcoming album "No Gods" ?

I think it should be promising for anyone to know that we adore it entirely and have never been more proud over anything we've done before. It's a natural step and a half onwards and upwards.

Tell us something about yourself that most of us don't know.

During my reply to this interview I fell in love with Paint It Black. Literally right now, as I write. Holy shit.

What is the funniest moment that happened while you guys are on the road?

The most recent memory that comes to mind is when Title Fight took the stage as our set was scheduled dressed in Shark helmets and playing "Wipe Out" over and over. It was on the AP tour and all bands fucked with each other all night, the pranks were impressive. It was hilarious.

Vegetables or meat?

I choose not to eat animal products, but that's just me.

Hands Like Houses have revealed the album title, cover art and track listing for their Rise Records debut, Ground Dweller, due out March 13, 2012.

Hailing from Canberra, Australia, the band has also posted an album teaser video on Rise Records’ official YouTube channel. Panic Records welcomes Boston’s Humaana to the family.

During Boston’s cold winter months, layering on sweaters and jackets can only keep you so warm. For musicians, the solace of a nice studio, and creating music that warms you on the inside can be just as much of a necessity to keep your sanity through those freezing times. That's just what the members of Humaana had in mind when forming as a studio project in the fall of 2009. Bassist Aaron Bernard and drummer Tim Manning had been playing music together for years in their previous band Late Nite Wars and had recorded all of their releases at Format Audio with engineer Ryan Stack. After establishing a friendship with Ryan, Humaana was formed with a goal to write and record as much material as possible without any genre constraints.Bands like Karate, The Police, Phoenix and The Kinks have laid the maps in front of Humaana as guidance for their sound. Humaana serves as an outlet for its members to play music closer to those influences while taking a new path to explore themselves.

Comfort was written and recorded in the fall of 2010 between a series of long breaks due to careers and touring. The EP will appeal to any fan of indie music in need of the warmth only provided by a great song. Comfort will see the light of day on vinyl, CD and digital formats, beginning February 28th via Panic Records. Humaana are streaming the first track, ‘Passing Parade’, from the Comfort EP now on their Facebook page.

Miss May I will enter The Machine Shop studios starting in early January to begin work on their 3rd release for Rise Records, which is tentatively scheduled to drop in spring 2012. The LP will be produced by Machine (Chiodos, Every Time I Die, Lamb Of God, Four Year Strong) and according to bassist/clean vocalist Ryan Neff, will be the band’s “most metal and dynamic release thus far.”

Miss May I has been writing songs since the spring of 2011 and began pre-production with Chris Rubey of The Devil Wears Prada during the summer while out on the Vans Warped Tour.

The forthcoming release will serve as the follow-up to the band’s breakthrough sophomore effort, Monument, which debuted at #76 on the Billboard Top 200. With combined sales of nearly 100,000 units over the course of their burgeoning career and a highly buzzed about stint on Warped Tour 2011, Miss May I is currently canvassing the country on their nearly sold-out No Guts, No Glory tour.

Young London began writing music together in 2011. They quickly realized that their writing styles combined to form a unique, catchy, dance-inducing style. After their explosive debut at South by Southwest, and a subsequent tour this past summer, they headed into the studio to start working on their first full-length album.

With the direction of producer Mark Maxwell (Blake Lewis, Boys Like Girls), Young London completed their self-titled debut, which will be released January 10 on Fugitive Recordings. The songs could be described as 90's throwback as if Danny Tanner invited Daft Punk over for dinner.

Young London’s brand new single “New Reputation” is now available on iTunes.

The LP will be available for pre-order on iTunes starting December 13.

Make Do And Mend Full-Length Album In 2012

Make Do And Mend will release a full-length album on Rise Records in 2012.

Make Do And Mend will begin recording their Rise Records debut full-length in February with producer Matt Bayles. The forthcoming LP will serve as the follow-up to the band’s highly acclaimed End Measured Mile, which was released in October 2010. Watch for a summer 2012 release date.

Drummer Matthew Carroll says, “So it is true, we have signed with Rise Records. We are so excited to be a part of the hardest working record label in music today. We are going to go into the studio in February and make the best MDAM record to date for you all. Thank you so much for your continued support.”
